ISC3 Innovation Challenge: Sustainable Building and Living

Share

To accelerate the search for innovative sustainable chemistry solutions, the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3) has launched its first ever Innovation Challenge on “Sustainable Building and Living”. The goal is to engage, award and promote sustainable chemistry innovators from around the world. Applications are open until 30 September 2019.

The challenge calls out to innovators developing solutions in the following thematic areas: design of construction elements and materials facilitating reuse and recycling, indoor air quality and/or thermal regulation, low cost/tech solutions for affordable housing, performance materials and technologies; resilience engineering, renewables and recycling, and substitution of hazardous compounds.

The Innovation Challenge, which will be organized annually with differentthemes, will provide its five finalists with global visibility and support within the ISC3 Global Start-up Service. The winner will additionally receive a 25,000€ cash prize.

Who can apply?

The Innovation Challenge is open for all innovators and entrepreneurs employed by organisations including research institutes, start-ups, small-medium sized enterprises or comparable institutions active in the development and realisation of sustainable chemistry innovations.

SusChem and ISC3

In March 2019, SusChem and ISC3 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster their collaboration and common mission of advancing Sustainable Chemistry at a European and global level. Through this agreement, they expect to maximise the impact of relevant activities, build on synergies and complementarities, and create added value for their members.

SusChem supports the Innovation Challenge, an initiative of ISC3, as a step towards advancing sustainable chemistry through innovative solutions. By investing in new skills and capacities, and by developing new sustainable materials, products, processes and business models, chemistry can play a very important role in building a more sustainable future, therefore reaching most of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
