FISCH becomes SusChem Flanders

Flanders’ Strategic Initiative for Sustainable Chemistry (FISCH) becomes SusChem Flanders on i-SUP 2010 Conference
 
From April 18-21, 2010, VITO (the Flemish Institute for Technological Research) is organising a multi-level conference on sustainable production.
An important part of this event is devoted to sustainable chemistry. Speakers will include: Sigurd Buchholz (Bayer Technology Services), Stephan Freyer (BASF), Jacco van Haveren (Wageningen University), Paul Watts (Hull University), Melvin Koch (University of Washington) and Evan Beach (Yale University).

In addition, more than 20 speakers will inform you about the latest developments in bio-based chemistry, in process intensification, and in the European and US vision/strategy with regard to sustainable chemistry.

The Flanders’ Strategic Initiative for Sustainable Chemistry (FISCH), initiated by essenscia flanders, also organizes a special meeting during the i-SUP Conference on Wednesday, April 21st, from 14.00 till 17.00 h. This satellite event will introduce you to the Flanders’ Strategic Initiative for Sustainable Chemistry (FISCH) and its upcoming representation in the European Technology Platform SusChem.
 
Carl Van der Auwera, Sr. Advisor Science, Technology & Innovation of essenscia flanders, will introduce the roadmap/business plan of the FISCH initiative.
 
Ger Spork, Innovation Manager of Cefic, will discuss  the SusChem action plan at the European level.
 
Together with the F3 Factory: Future, Fast, Flexible and the Smart Energy Home visionary projects, the chemical industry invites you to build on its sustainable chemical processes and products to green the economy.

Registration for this satellite event is free of charge, and does not require a registration for the i-SUP Conference.
